About Us
The Big Bug Neighborhood is a tiny tri-city area in central Arizona where the air is clean, the night sky is dazzling and there are miles and miles of open country stretching out in every direction. The nearest full-service town is over 20 miles away. We don't have all the big city services and amenities but we do have a generous number of residents and organizations that work tirelessly to make our neighborhood a great place to call home. In November 2009 The Hummingbird Buzz E-Newsletter debuted under the auspices of The Mayer Elders Club, for the express purpose of creating a single electronic source for what's happening in Mayer, Spring Valley and Cordes Lakes. Once the newsletter was launched, it seemed only natural to set up a website. The CrocodileTears.Com domain name (once my on-line pet clothing store) was pulled from retirement and pressed into service to serve the Big Bug Neighborhood. For those of you who used to visit the Old Crocodile, be assured he is alive and well and very comfortable in his new role as Town Crier (pun intended). :-) There is much to enjoy in our neighborhood. We don’t have to drive miles and miles for good family-friendly entertainment and dining. It’s right here, and when we support our community businesses and organizations we are supporting the entire community.
